Arctic Tern on Iceberg

from 35.00

Painted while I was living in the Antarctic.  Arctic Terns are small birds, but they manage to circumnavigate the globe each year, flying from their breeding grounds at the North Pole to their summer vacations at the South Pole - that's the longest migration of any bird that we know of.  They live to be 60 years old and mate for life.
